Help with First Time Home Buying -The Down Payment

Realty World Tri-Shasta ยป First-time home buyerBuying a house after you get married is part of the American dream. Since most young couples also have high student loans to pay back, they might not be able to come up with the money for a down payment. A couple of years ago, you might have gotten away with only having to have a small down payment on a house. Since the turn of the economy, most lenders are requiring you to have at least 20% down and then you still have to pay closing cost on top of that. It can get expensive and be the one draw back to buying a home. In some cities, there are programs set up to help with down payment to buy a house if you are a first time home buyer. Some cities advertise these programs and others keep them hidden and you stumble upon them by chance. If you are buying your first home, you should ask your realtor or lender if there is a program like this set up where you live.
